We recently visited the Moxy bar. Our bartender was Karson (w/a K ). He was absolutely amazing! He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and engaging (we learned so much about the craft cocktails served). Icing on the cake: He fixed one of the best drinks I’ve ever had (in my life). The drink is called the Maple Contraband…if you like whiskey (or even if you don’t), you’ve got to try this drink. Net-Net: We had an amazing time & really appreciate the service!

This was my second time staying at a Moxy, and I found it to be a really nice change of pace compared to my usual hotel choices. I'm normally more inclined to book those traditional, more standard hotel options, but this was definitely a more unique and memorable experience. It didn't feel quite like a typical hotel in certain aspects. I'd absolutely consider staying there again in the future.

This is a very modern MINIMALISTIC hotel. It has wonderful amenities for guests as well as the community. There is an activities offered each day throughout the week, which is really great. The drinks at the bar are really good - not too strong not too weak. There was a really good crowd in the lobby area which I really did enjoy. The hotel staff was very pleasant & my room overall was very clean.

Odd at first, but it grows on you quick. We went for a track meet in January, but the ocean front was great. If you are there just for the beach and to cruise around VA Beach, it's a great location and there is plenty of space in the room. It was clean and nice(ah the dark team hallways were really bad). The cafe is AWESOME. It's off to one side in the lobby and they didn't tell us about it when we checked in. Lunch and breakfast, quick, real and rather inexpensive. The service was super. While not complimentary, well worth it!

Me and my gf have such a hard time with hotels and this one was perfect. We like to wear tons of layers over the wintertime. I wear underwear, long underwear, pants, snow pants, a short t shirt, long thermals, three sweaters, two jackets, and a hoodie. My gf wears the same. Normally we’re tripping and falling over our clothes sometimes we got to climb mountains to go to the bathroom. We have nowhere to put our clothes in most hotels. Well these rooms had 24 clothing hooks. We had space for everything. Clothing hooks are super important to us and every other hotel falls short. The hooks have the kind of sturdiness necessary to handle anything you throw on them. This would be perfect for swat or military in case you need to hang riot gear or flak jackets, helmets, with night vision gear, nuclear protective suits, scuba gear air tanks, perhaps welding equipment to name a few. We didn’t need any heavy equipment on this trip but we’re glad to know this hotel has the proper installations necessary for our needs.

True to the Moxy brand this hotel was in a good location, well-designed, and amusingly decorated. Room was clean and comfortable with the typical Moxy twist: a rocking chair and a hammock chair. Probably more interesting on the beach side but still nice. Customer service was good. I didn’t notice any of the issues people complained about. Guests who whine about the style or amenities don’t know the Moxy brand and obviously didn’t do their research - not the hotel’s fault.

My husband, our dog, and I had a great stay at the Moxy Virginia Beach. (We are professionals in our mid 30s) The overall vibe of the hotel is fun, creative, and very social. The lobby area with games and seating makes it easy to hang out and relax, which gives the hotel a really welcoming atmosphere. It’s clearly very dog- and kid-friendly, which adds to the casual and lively feel. The Belvedere downstairs was a great spot for breakfast, and the bar and lobby areas were excellent for spending time in the evenings. The hotel is also extremely close to the beach and has a great outdoor lounge area to enjoy the ocean air. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but they worked well for my husband, our dog, and me. The balcony was a good size and made it easy to enjoy some time outside. I actually liked the bathroom layout — the large shower and toilet are behind a sliding door, while the sink is in the main room, which made getting ready easier. The room was clean and thoughtfully designed. There isn’t a traditional dresser, but we were able to hang clothes or use the chair, fridge top, and luggage rack for storage. I also appreciated the narrow shelf along the wall for keys, sunglasses, and toiletries, and the “stash” closet was surprisingly useful. Storage space under the bed was also great for shoes and bags. The AC worked really well, which we appreciated. The mattress was comfortable, though the pillows were just okay. The shower pressure was a bit weak, but nothing that affected the stay too much. The pool was closed for the season, but it looked nice. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay. This was my first time staying at a Moxy hotel and I really loved the concept. I actually prefer the smaller, minimalist rooms if it means getting the fun common spaces and social atmosphere. It was a unique and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely stay here again.

I always enjoy my stay at Moxy hotels. This one has inexpensive valet parking. The front desk staff were friendly. The bartenders made great drinks. The bar area was a vibe. We got a double queen oceanfront room which was clean, cozy, and larger than other Moxy hotels I've stayed. I will definitely be back.
